TS records 4,298 new virus cases, 32 deaths in 24 hours

HYDERABAD CITY and the rest of the GHMC area showed a very marginal decrease in cases since Friday when 607 cases were reported for this region.

The Coronaviru­s appears to be fighting back in Telangana and does not appear to be relinquish­ing its hold on the people if the number of new Covid-19 cases found in the state on Saturday are an indication.

According to the state health department’s Covid19 bulletin for the day, Telangana state discovered, after conducting 62,723

Covid-19 tests for which results were available, 4,298 new cases of the disease on Saturday.

This is a mere seven cases fewer than the 4,305 found on Friday.

Meanwhile, deaths from Covid-19 on Saturday rose to 32, from 29 on Friday.

Incidental­ly, Hyderabad city and the rest of the GHMC area showed a very marginal decrease in cases since Friday when 607 cases were reported for this region. On Saturday, the health department said

GHMC recorded 601 new

Covid-19 cases.

The department said 6,026 people were declared as recovered on Saturday taking their total to 4,69,007, while the total cases stood at

5,25,007, and the deaths from the disease at 2,928 so far.

The districts that witnessed an increase in cases on Saturday were Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Yadadri Bhongir, Peddapalli, Nirmal, Narayanpet, Nagarkurno­ol, Mulugu, Mahbubabad, Mahbubnaga­r, Kamareddy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Jayashanka­r Bhupalapal­li and Jangaon.
