The ongoing fever survey in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporatio­n (GHMC) limits has resulted in nearly two lakh people showing various kinds of symptoms, civic body officials said on Saturday.

So far, 1,97,037 people from the city, identified with symptoms, have been checked for fever and other ailments at various government health clinics and hospitals.

Around 1,543 teams comprising staff from GHMC and state health department continued the door-to-door fever survey. One auxiliary nurse midwife, an Asha worker, and a GHMC staffer, constituti­ng each team, visited 1,41,223 households.

In areas where fever cases were found to be more, the corporatio­n took up anti-larval spraying to control mosquitos. Approximat­ely 13,725 persons, found to be suffering from fever, were examined at clinics and hospitals. Officials said that till now they have covered 6,96,366 houses.
