- DC CORRESPONDENT

The North Zone Task Force police on Saturday apprehended seven men from different areas of the city for illegally procuring and selling remdesivir injections in black. Officials seized from their possession 32 vials and seven cell phones.

Those held for black-marketing remdesivir were identified as Sunku Damodar, Putta Ramalingesh, Busam Girish Kumar, Grandhi Gouri Shankar, Grandhi Harish Kumar, Potnuru Mukunda Rao, and Arakanti Chinna. These people were arrested followed raids in Panjagutta, Banjara Hills and SR Nagar areas.

Dr Ganga Raju, working with a private hospital, is reportedly absconding.

“The accused had been selling each vial at prices ranging between `25,000 and `35,000 each without any valid documents. The seven apprehended are into medical business, with some being medical representatives in hospitals. They used their credentials to target gullible people who needed these injections urgently for their family members struck with Coronavirus,” a Task Force official said.
