BANK STAFF KILLED IN ROAD RAGE
In a case of road rage, a bank staffer was brutally killed by some youth for honking persistently. The incident took place at Santhosh Nagar in Kurnool city late on Friday night.
Deceased Muni Maheswara Reddy (40), a resident of Santhosh Nagar in the city, worked as a senior field officer in SBI of the Mahabubnagar branch in Telangana.
According to Fourth Town circle inspector Sreenivasa Reddy, Maheswara Reddy was taking out his car from his house on Friday evening when he found another car obstructing the way. Four youth had parked that car on the road and did not heed to persistent honking by the bank employee.
This led to heated argument between Maheswara Reddy and the youth, one of whom resided in the same colony. The contention of the youth was another car had remained parked on the wrong side of the road and hence they could not remove their car. This led to heated arguments between youth and the bank employee. Other residents intervened, calmed them down and resolved the issue.
Late on the same night, Maheswara Reddy, after chatting with his friend in the colony, was walking back home. The youth, who had earlier been involved in the argument, accosted the bank employee while returning and stabbed him with knives, causing severe stab injuries. The attackers then fled from the scene.
Local shifted Maheswara Reddy to Kurnool Government General Hospital where he died the same night while receiving medical treatment.
The circle inspector said a case has been registered and investigation is on.
