ODISHA DOCTORS SAVE LIFE OF COVID+ BABY

Doctors in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar have done wonders as they saved the life of a 15-day-old girl who had almost slipped into vegetative state after contracting Covid19.

The girl named Gudia hailing from Madanpur in Odisha’s Kalahandi district was fully cured of the disease and returned home with her parents on Friday, the hospital authorities said on Saturday.

According to reports, Gudia tested positive for Coronavirus just 15 days following her birth. Incidentally, all her family members also tested positive. The baby was immediately shifted to the private hospital in Bhubaneswar after her health deteriorated further. Even her major organs were on the brink of failure and she was gradually slipping into vegetative state.

However, the doctors at the hospital succeeded in saving the life of the child after 20 days of treatment that included 10 days of ventilator support.

The treatment process was not that easy. The doctors had to administer both steroids and Remdesivir to Gudia which are currently not allowed for infants.
