JAGADISH SETS JUNE 15 FOR LI SCHEMES DPRs

Energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy, who is also in-charge minister for undivided Nalgonda district, on Friday directed irrigation officials to prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) of new lift irrigation schemes proposed in the district by June 15.Reddy on Friday reviewed the progress of irrigation projects in Nalgonda district with irrigation officials at Jala Soudha here.

The minister set Decemberend deadline for completing the construction of lift irrigation projects announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

He also directed officials to submit work estimates for modernisation of SRSP canal Nos. 69, 70 and 71 respectively within three days.

The minister has set July 31 deadline for Kaleshwaram waters to reach Basvapur reservoir.

He asked officials to expedite construction of Bunadigani canal, Dharmareddy canal and Pillaipalli canals.

Reddy directed officials to call for tenders for construction of lift irrigation schemes soon after DPRs are readied by June 15.
