INDIA CONTINUES TO RECORD FALL IN COVID CASES
India on Friday reported
1.86 lakh fresh Covid-19 cases, which was lowest for the first time in the last 44 days. The country has been recording less than 3 lakh daily new cases for the 12 consecutive days and as per Union health ministry, the active cases are on a declining trend and have reduced by
76,755 in the last 24 hours as recoveries outnumber the fresh detections.
The country’s Recovery Rate has increased to
90.34% as over 2.49 lakh persons got discharged from medical supervision. The daily positivity rate is at present 9%. It has been less than 10% for the last four consecutive days.
Mumbai reported 929 new cases in the last 24 hours which was slowest since March 2 while Delhi’s positivity rate dropped to 1.59%. Union minister for information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said India will vaccinate its entire population by December 2021.
