TS GOVT FAILED TO CURB COVID, SAYS CONGRESS

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, JUNE 1

Congress leaders said the state government had failed to curb the Covid-19 spread. Leaders including state party chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramaraka participated in a meeting via social media app on Tuesday as part of a “campaign to vaccinate everyone” as per the call given by AICC.

Reddy urged the government to include journalists in the list of frontline warriors and inform the public about remdesivir injection availability. The vaccination drive should be carried out without any halt, he proposed. He said the TRS government was failing to fulfill the promises it made to the people even after seven years in power. The central and state governments took the pandemic issue lightly after the first lockdown, he alleged.

He asked that when neighbouring states were offering Covid-19 treatment free, why was the TRS government not doing so? He demanded that the RT-PCR testing should be done free at all mandal centers. Bhatti said the government does not care about the problem of unemployment and does not care about giving unemployment benefits to youths.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had deceived the people. He said that AICC president Sonia Gandhi gave Telugus the separate state of Telangana but the aim for which it was created, namely to give employment to youths, had not been fulfilled. The CLP leader said if the black fungus situation worsened in the state, a fear is that there will not be sufficient stock of medicines.
