- NARENDER PULLOOR | DC

Former minister Etala Rajender, former MLA Enugu Ravinder Reddy, Karimnagar former zilla parishad chairperson and TRS undivided Nizamabad district in-charge Tula Uma will join BJP on June 14.

BJP national general secretary and Telangana state incharge Tarun Chugu will reach Hyderabad and meet the TRS dissident leaders to invite them into the party fold.

Meanwhile, Ravinder Reddy has been busy with a series of meetings with his supporters in Yellareddy Assembly constituency for the last few days.

Many second-rung leaders and activists supported his decision to join BJP.

Ravinder Reddy explained to the cadre how he was humiliated in TRS after his defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections.

The party cadre split into two groups with one group supporting Ravinder Reddy and the other rallying behind sitting MLA Jajala Surender, who had switched over from Congress. To protect the cadre, the ruling party is taking utmost care in Yellareddy Assembly constituency, but in vain.

Meanwhile, TRS Nizamabad district in-charge Tula Uma is also finding it difficult to adjust in TRS and has decided to join BJP. During her stint as district in-charge Tula Uma actively participated in party programmes. TRS leaders in the district were shocked to hear Uma’s decision.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a TRS key leader said on condition of anonymity that both Ravinder Reddy, Tula Uma are leaving the party. Since the 2018 Assembly elections, the gap between the party and these leaders has widened, he said.
