Suchitra jn to get four elevated corridors soon
Roads and buildings minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy inspected the proposed four elevated corridors site at Suchitra Junction along with officials of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), MLAs KP Vivekanand, Balka Suman and MLC Shambhipur Raja on Monday.
The minister said the detailed project reports (DPRs) of the elevated corridors would be ready soon to launch construction works.
Service roads over an extent of 10-km will be laid, four underpasses will be constructed and junctions will be widened to provide seamless travel from Suchitra Junction in Hyderabad to Nizamabad, Adilabad, Medak and Karimnagar districts besides solving traffic problems of Quthbullapur constituency residents.
The four elevated corridors will be constructed at Suchitra Junction on Hyderabad-Nagpur highway, Dairy Farm Junction, Dhulapally Junction and Medchal town.
Frequent traffic jams from Suchitra Junction to Medchal town have become the order of the day due to heavy flow of vehicles. Motorists have been facing this problem for decades.
From Suchitra Junction to Gu nd lapoc ham pally stretch of over 10 km, three elevated corridors, four underpasses and junction widening will be taken up at a cost of `450 crore.
From Gu nd lapoc ham pally to Kallakal road spread over 17-km, service roads will be laid besides widening of junctions and construction of flyover at Medchal at a cost of `800 crore including land acquisition costs. The minister stated that talks with NHAI officials were in advanced stages to commence works.
