JH HOUSING SOCIETY REFUTES CHARGES AGAINST PRESIDENT

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Members of Jubilee Hills Cooperative House Building Society on Monday said they would file a defamation case against the member who lodged a false police complaint against its president Ravindranath and treasurer Nagaraju.

Refuting the allegations against him, Ravindranath said the society had around 3,000 plots and the allotment was done to different members based on the terrain and accessibility as it was a rocky area. Initially, the allotments were done for higher extents, but due to urban land ceiling issues, some of the plots were registered to the extent of permissible limits of urban land ceiling.

“The society received a proposal from J. Parvathi Devi to register such additional land which is adjacent to her present existing plot and also not accessible to anyone else. The society made an official survey and found that there was 365 square yards of society land and 353 square yards of municipal land. As the society does not have any right to deal with the municipal land, it registered the additional land of 365 square yards as per the prevailing government rate of `45,000 per square yard,” he said.

As per the members, the allegations of the complainant are completely false. “The allegation that the plot could have been allotted to other waitlisted members is absolutely baseless, because no member can be allotted this plot as it does not have any access to other members. There is an allegation that a lot of money has changed hands in this transaction and we challenge any one to prove such baseless allegation,” added the president.
