Revanth offers to give TRS graft evidence to Amit Shah
Demanding a detailed probe into the alleged massive-scale corruption of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family members, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Lok Sabha MP A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said he was “ready to handover evidence of corruption and irregularities in the construction of power projects, PPAs, irrigation projects, grant of mining lease and land dealings of the Kalkukuntla family to Union home minister Amit Shah, if he gives us an appointment.”
Revanth Reddy also demanded the formation of a Central Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the activities of the drugs mafia in TS.
To press for the demand for a probe into the alleged corruption of CM KCR and his family members, the Congress has sought an appointment with Union home minister Amit Shah during his visit to Telangana on September 17.
The PCC chief said that while state BJP leaders, including Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, state
BJP president Bandi Sanjay and others often claim that BJP-led Central government would send KCR to jail for corruption, their statements had so far been proven to be just “hollow threats”.
A ten-member delegation of the Congress party comprising of MPs Revanth Reddy, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkatreddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy, MLAs T. Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, P. Veeraiah and Seethakka plan to meet the Union home minister during his visit to Telangana on September 16 - 17.
Raju filed the application to cancel the bail granted to Jagan Mohan Reddy in the first week of April, on the ground that he was violating bail conditions, like nonappearance before the court on the days of trial and after assuming the office of the Chief Minister of AP.
He also stated Jagan Mohan Reddy had been influencing the witnesses in the disproportionate assets cases by using his authority and power. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy told the court that the petition was filed on political grounds.
After hearing both sides, the court had reserved its orders on August 1, stating that the orders would be pronounced on August 25. Meanwhile, Raju had filed another application seeking to cancel the bail granted to Vijaysai Reddy, in the same case, in which he was the second accused.
Raju also filed a petition before the Telangana High Court in the second week of September to transfer the applications filed by him at the CBI court to any other court in Telangana, expressing apprehensions that he would not get proper justice in those applications filed at CBI court.
Justice K. Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday afternoon heard the petition of Raju and questioned the grounds for his apprehensions against the CBI court.
