‘Accused didn’t shave’

- DC CORRESPONDENT — Indrani Paul, an analyst at an MNC

PUBLIC REACTIONS ON RAJU’S ALLEGED SUICIDE

The accused had not shaved or taken a haircut and was seen dead in the same pants he was last seen on CC cameras. Gathering public reaction on the news. Everything about this case seems shady. Government had announced the prize money and a week later the culprit was ‘found dead’ on a railway track. Police had just identified the culprit by his tattoo. They should not be taking the law in their own hands. Judicial system should take care of that and people need to stop praising ‘encounters’.

I hope the youth and the public do not resort to alcohol addiction to an extent where they lose their mind and end up in such a place. Raju, as reported in the news, was an alcohol addict and has lost his life due to a mistake, leaving his wife and kid on their own. I hope people are aware of such addictions and control their vices.

— K. Rajan Nair, an Area Sales Manager from RTC cross roads.

End of the day all we wanted was for someone who did such a heinous act to die and death is the capital punishment in such cases. Though I’m happy that there is one less criminal on the streets, the way he died also matters a lot. In a city claiming to be under high surveillance, how did a man evade cops for a week and surpassingly end up dead?

— Kajal, a private employee from the city.

How was it possible that he was at large for a week? Why did the police take so much time to arrest?

Raping a 6 year old minor is so inhuman and letting him away for so long that he died by suicide is not considered as a punishment. Thank you Hyderabad police, we feel safe now.

— Pamela Debnath, a resident of Secunderabad.

It is not a justified act by the city police. There are no medical records proving that the man on the railway track is the rapist apart from the tattoos they claim to have seen. This action of Hyderabad police has hurt the sentiments of the victim’s family. If the real culprit is found, he should be arrested as per the law and sentenced to death.
