12,000 BTECH SEATS LEFT IN PVT COLLEGES

As many as 69,793 students have exercised their options for admission into engineerin­g and pharmacy courses during the Eamcet web-based counsellin­g, it was announced on Saturday.

The state has 74,071 seats in various engineerin­g streams at 15 public and two private universiti­es, and 158 private engineerin­g colleges.

Of these, 60,941 seats have been opted for by students with only 142 left in the public universiti­es, and 171 seats available in the two private universiti­es. As many as

12,817 engineerin­g seats are still available in private colleges.

With respect to pharmacy, of the total 4,199 seats available, only 228 have been filled with

3,971 seats still available.

Seats under the sports and NCC quotas will be considered for allotment in the final phase of counsellin­g after receiving priorities from the department­s concerned, it was announced.
