Revanth: BJP divided over support to KCR

TPCC chief: TRS negligence on SC, ST issues exposed

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, SEPT.18

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP Telangana state unit had been divided into two groups, and while one was supporting Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the other was opposing him. Actually, the remote control of Telangana BJP was in the hands of Chandrashekar Rao, he said and suggested that BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar should stop criticising the Chief Minister for being insincere.

Speaking to reporters here at the Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Revanth Reddy said the Congress had already complained to the CBI director against the state government for allegedly allotting costly lands of Kokapet to My Home Rameshwar Rao and Raj Pushpa groups. On the pretext of extending an invitation, Rameshwar Rao, along with China Jeeyar Swamy, met Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on September 16, he said.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the duo was lobbying for Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao with Amit Shah. Union minister G. Kishan Reddy was playing a middleman’s role in this regard, he alleged. To protect the Chief Minister from alleged Kokapet land irregularities, the trio mediated with the home minister, he said. “The TPCC asked the home minister for appointment to hand over evidence against Chandrashekar

Rao’s irregularities during his Telangana visit, but the BJP leaders objected to it,” he said.

The TPCC chief criticised Amit Shah for spreading hatred among Hindus and Muslims during his visit. BJP leadership was always trying to get political mileage from communal issues, he said. Shockingly, the BJP leaders were misleading people on history, he said.

Revanth Reddy said the Congress succeeded in

creating awareness among Dalits and Girijans with the Dandora programme. “We successfully exposed the negligence of the TRS government on SC/ST welfare and development,” he said. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao might have been shocked by the success of the Dandora programme in Gajwel, he said, adding that the Congress activists strived hard to make the Dandora programme a grand success.
