TPCC TO PROTEST UNEMPLOYMENT FROM OCT. 2
The Congress will take up agitation programmes on the issue of unemployment from October 2 to December 9. Either Congress president Sonia Gandhi or party leader Rahul Gandhi may make it to the concluding programme.
This was decided during the TPCC executive committee meeting, chaired by its president A. Revanth Reddy, here on Saturday.
Giving details, senior vice-president Mallu Ravi said that Congress leaders will visit educational institutions and meet intellectuals on unemployment issues. A meeting of the political affairs committee will chalk out the programme soon, he said.
They will sit on a dharna at Indira Park on September 22 and Bharath Bandh will be observed on September 27, he said.
Ravi said that opposition parties are also invited for a meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday. At the national level, the party is working with 11 opposition parties against the anti-people policies of the NDA government, he said.
