Samantha miffed!
Temple visits spark curiosity about the state of her marriage
Samantha has been on a spiritual journey. The actress went to the Sri Kalahastiswara Swamy Temple and Tirupati, and sought divine blessings.
Later, when Samantha was returning, she was asked to comment on rumours about the status of her marriage. “Gudiki vacchi...Buddhi unda? (You came to a temple,
don’t you have sense?)” she shot back.
Samantha reached Srikalahasti on Friday evening and had a normal darshan. She later went to Tirupati and stayed there overnight. She availed of the VIP break on Saturday at 5:30 AM to have darshan of Lord Venkateshwara.
The actress visited the Srikalahasti temple again on Saturday morning, and this time, she performed the Chandi Homam for one hour, followed by Saneeswara Swamy Abhishekam for half-an-hour. After she took part in these rituals, the priests blessed her and presented her with a shawl and a souvenir on behalf of the temple authorities.
These temple visits have generated a lot of curiosity, coming as they do amidst speculation regarding her relationship with her husband.
Jagapathi Babu, or JB, as he is popularly called, plays father to Sai Dharam Tej, who has the role of an IAS officer in the upcoming Deva Katta directorial Republic. JB is also a public servant in the film, which shows the lives of bureaucrats in a different light.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the role of a public servant; it was very liberating. The dimensions and layers of my role are something to watch out for. I want to thank Deva for writing such a character,’ says JB.
“If every civil servant does his job perfectly, then I am sure the world will be a better place.
India needs honest bureaucrats; most officers in the system are corrupt,” the actor says. “Just as a doctor is important for saving lives, every IAS officer is important for societal development; he’s like a messenger sent by God to serve the public,” says JB. “I have seen IAS officers like Jay Prakash Narayan garu (former IAS officer) since childhood; he’s been a great inspiration for many. He’s a man of values who always fought for a better
Chandi society,” the actor adds. JB also stressed that fathers play a crucial role in the lives of their bureaucrat sons.
Talking about working with a youngster like Sai Dharam Tej, he said it was “a cool experience” and added, “His energy is infectious.”
JB is a nature lover and wishes to spend time enjoying greenery. “If people are a little more selfless, I am sure we can contribute a lot more to the green revolution,” he says.
