Man kills two sons, ends life by suicide

A 35-year-old auto-rickshaw driver allegedly killed his two sons and later committed suicide over disputes with his wife. The driver promised his children new clothes for the New Year and the overjoyed children told their mother, friends and neighbours and sat in his rickshaw to go to the market. That is the last anyone saw them alive.
The driver, Kishan Naik, stopped the vehicle at a secluded spot and gave his children — Harshavardhan, 8, and Akhil, 6, — soft drink laced with poison. The kids fell unconscious and Naik murdered them. He then died by suicide at a farm in Wadapally police limits of Nalgonda district.
Kishan’s wife Bhoolaxmi has alleged that Kishan killed her two sons after the couple had disputes.
Police said Kishan’s wife Bhoolaxmi had gone to her parents’ residence during the first lockdown last year following quarrels with her husband. Naik went to Miryalaguda and stayed for time alone.
Family elders intervened and reunited the family. However, Naik started suspecting his wife’s character and harassed her in a drunken state.
Miryalaguda inspector M. Satyanarayana said that Bhoolaxmi went to sleep thinking they would return the next day. However, the bodies of Kishan and his children were found by some farmers who went to work in their farms in the morning.
Police was informed and they shifted the bodies to the Miryalaguda area hospital for postmortem. Based on the complaint, police have registered suspicious death cases.
