Says BJP is not afraid of false cases foisted against its leaders, will fight and stand by our rights

Union minister of tourism G. Kishan Reddy did not rule out the possibility of the home ministry seeking a report from the Telangana government on the law and order situation in the state if the Governor sent a report on the situation.

Addressing the media in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, Kishan Reddy said the manner in which the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar was arrested and his office was ransacked by police had violated citizen rights, more so of a Member of Parliament.

He said the BJP was not afraid of false cases foisted against its leaders and cadre and said they would not ask the KCR government to withdraw cases. “We will fight in law courts and stand by our rights,” he said.

Drawing comparison between the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and other parties, he said police were showing discrimination between ruling party men and others and subjecting them to all sorts of problems. He wanted the rule of law to prevail in Telangana.

On the arrest of Sanjay Kumar, he said it was deplorable that the KCR government had invoked Disaster Management Act on trumped up charges of not wearing masks and maintaining physical distance while Sanjay Kumar was observing Jagaran in his own office. He questioned how many TRS ministers and MLA were wearing masks and attending programmes. He narrated his latest experience where the TRS ministers did not wear masks while opening a flyover in Hyderabad city. He questioned why there was no case against them.

He affirmed that his party would stand by teachers and government employees and fight for their rights till GO 317 was withdrawn by the state government.
