BSF GUNS DOWN BANGLADESHI AT THE BORDER
The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday morning gunned down a Bangladeshi national at the Indo-Bangladesh border in Makchar in Western Assam's Dhubri district. The Bangladeshi national was shot dead while he was trying to smuggle cattle to Bangladesh with the help of a bamboo crane.
The deceased, later on identified as Faridul Islam, is resident of Rowmari in the Kurigram district of Bangladesh.
The DIG Mr J C Nayak, of BSF of Dhubri sector told reporters that the incident occurred while smugglers had tried to transport cows from the Indian side to Bangladesh by pulling the cows over the tall barbed-wire fence.
