POLICE: 7-YR-OLD BOY MURDERED, REVEALS AUTOPSY
The death of a sevenyear-old boy, which was claimed to be accidental, was found to be a coldblooded murder during the post-mortem examination. Following this, his stepmother, Saritha, was taken into custody on Sunday for strangling the victim, Ujwal, to death.
Saritha allegedly told the police that she did not like the boy mocking her and decided to kill him. After strangling him at their residence in Golnaka, Kachiguda, on Saturday, Saritha tried to pass it off as an accidental death, police said.
Ujwal was the third child of N. Bhaskar, who married Saritha after the death of his first wife in 2017.
“On Saturday, while Bhaskar was at work, Sarita strangled Ujwal to death at their house. She then informed Bhaskar that the boy fell unconscious while playing and they shifted him to a hospital, where the doctors pronounced the child dead,” said Kacheguda inspector Mohd Habeebullah Khan. Bhaskar, in his complaint, did not raise any suspicion regarding the death of his son.
During investigation, it was found that Ujwal was strangled and the preliminary opinion of forensic experts suggested the same. “After these findings, Sarita was taken into custody. During the interrogation, she admitted to killing the boy,” an official said.
The police, who had initially registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances altered the case to one of murder.
Bhaskar, in his complaint, did not raise any suspicion.
