Heroshini Komali, who became a sensation with her mimicry acts along with her sister Devarshini as a child, and went on to act as one of NTR’s daughters (Uma Maheswari) in his biopic, has wrapped up shooting for a Tamil film, Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham, under director Raghav Mirdath. Komali stars opposite Kaushik in the love story.

“Just as the weather has different phases as every season unfolds, we wanted to show that love too blossoms as it progresses,” says the actress.

According to her, the love story has a unique approach. “I play Anuradha, a college goer. She’s in love with the idea of falling in love. The film also talks about relationships and love that travels through seasons,” the actress shares.

Komali, who dubbed for the first time in Tamil for her role, says, “I believe it brings authenticity and completeness to the character,” and adds that her voice is actually appropriate for the role.

The actress shares an intriguing backstory about how she got the Tamil film. She was apparently in Chennai to audition for a film. “I had even done workshops for the film, but somehow the project did not materialise. But the makers of my current film saw my audition tapes and offered

me the project,” she reveals, adding that she was hired after the audition and look test. She thanked producer CV Kumar for the film.

Komali is not new to the camera; she did several stage shows as a child and also did theatre workshops in Hyderabad. “That experience helped me understand the craft and figure out what role suits me,” she says.

Asked about her younger sister, Komali says, “She left for the UK after Class XII and she’s currently pursuing her graduate programme there.”
