Cong. deploys mandal incharges in Munugode

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, SEPT. 14

The Congress which is pressing ahead with all its energy for success in the Munugode bypolls deployed a set of ‘attached’ mandal incharges to further activate the party’s campaign there.

These leaders will be ensuring the partymen did maximum groundwork by the time top state-level party leaders arrived on the scene to give a decisive push to the campaign. Statelevel leaders holding the responsibility as mandal incharges will power the campaign.

AICC incharge (TS), Manickam Tagore, and Revanth Reddy who reviewed the meeting at Gandhi Bhavan advised the party leaders to reach out to the maximum number of households and spend maximum time in their designated mandals.

Some leaders have already left for the constituency to identify the ‘traditional Congress voters’ in each of the booths, besides reaching out to those who are not oriented to any party.

The cluster incharges and the booth incharges will be coordinating with these leaders to ensure that the traditional voter base remains intact. The party’s strategy is based on the idea of retaining the existing voters, around 80,000 to 90,000, given the voting trend in the recent assembly or parliament elections.

Recently, the party has assigned seven mandals and a municipality to seniors, each of whom will be assisted by two ‘attached incharges’, totalling 14. These leaders will be supported by 30 cluster incharges and 150 booth incharges, who are already in the field and have helped in gathering crowds in public meetings.

Now their focus will be on identifying and reaching out to the prospective voters.

Earlier in the day, Tagore and Revanth presented cheques of `2 lakh each as part of the Rajiv Gandhi Accidental Insurance scheme, to the families of over 120 party’s members who died in recent months.

Out of the 427 registered party workers who died, only 129 had received these cheques, as others were yet to submit the required documents.

Earlier this year, some 50 lakh new enrolments for the digital membership were done in Telangana and the `2 lakh accident- insurance scheme was a major attraction to them.
