Telangana Integration Day: CS reviews prep.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar held a videoconference with collectors and SPS of all districts, senior officials of various departments from BRKR Bhavan on Wednesday and reviewed the arrangements being made for the three-day Telangana Integration Day celebrations being held by the state government from September 16 to 18.
The CS said that the state government has also issued orders to celebrate the occasion in a grand and befitting manner. The collectors should make elaborate arrangements in all the Assembly constituencies for the rallies and the meetings to be held September 16, he said. The collectors should plan accordingly with the ministers, MLAS and other public representatives and ensure that the programme is a grand success.
The CS underscored the need for meticulous planning and coordinated efforts of all the line departments for organising the event. He stated that the government and private buildings should be illuminated from September 14 to 18. On September 17, the CM will hoist the national tricolour at the Public Gardens in Hyderabad. The national flag should be hoisted at all the district, mandal and gram panchayats headquarters, the CS said. TSRTC has been directed to provide buses for transporting the tribals to Hyderabad. Cultural programmes should be held at all the district headquarters on September 18 and felicitation of freedom fighters and artists should be done on that day. DGP M. Mahender Reddy asked the police officials to visualise the entire rally and plan accordingly in coordination with the district officials. Police should also ensure seamless movement of RTC buses to NTR stadium on September 17. Special chief secretary MA&UD Arvind Kumar, additional DGP, L&O Jitender, among others participated.
