The relatively minor character of ‘Six-pack Sandy’ in Govinda Naam Mera, has come in for praise from the critics. Veteran villain Ranjeet’s son Jeeva earned a lot of audience sympathy despite his role having negative shades, because it turned out to be the only nonmanipulative character of the movie. “It’s a pleasure to make a debut in a Dharma Productions movie and to be directed by someone like Shashank Khaitaan. The role has opened a lot of doors to me. I always wanted to be an actor and the time was right,” Jeeva smiles. “I met Shashank and he took an audition and then offered me the role of Sandy,” says Jeeva,
Yash Raj Films will soon have many actors from each of their spy films crossing over to other movies under the production house. Let us remind you that the first film they did in the spy business was the Salman Khan-katrina Kaif-starrer Ek Tha Tiger in 2012. Buoyed by its success, they made Tiger Zinda Hai with the same actors. And that wasn’t all — in 2019 they made WAR which went on to become the highest grosser of that year. And this year two more films are planned — Pathaan which has Salman Khan in a cameo, and Salman’s
Tiger 3 which will release in
November.
“The film will surely basking in the adulation he has been receiving.
While his father Ranjeet was one of the most prominent villains in Hindi cinema, having worked in a few hundred films, Jeeva says he aspires to go beyond that. “Dad produced films like Kaarnama and Ghazab Tamasha. I am also into writing scripts. I got around 300 auditions and rejections before I landed my first role,” says Jeeva, who was born Chiranjeev and is also an entrepreneur having developed quite a few apps.
