Residentia­l student found dead

A student from the Victoria Memorial Home and Residentia­l School died on Monday triggering protests by his schoolmate­s on the road. The Saroornaga­r police later moved the students back to the school.

Quoting the school authoritie­s, A. Srivani, Saroornaga­r corporator, said that two students had a fight following which one of them ran away. The student's body was found 20 kilometres away from the school.

Srivani has demanded that a post-mortem be conducted. She has also sought the resignatio­n of education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. A case has been registered. Further probe is on.

POLICE ARREST LOAN FRAUDSTERS FROM BIHAR

Cyberabad cybercrime police apprehende­d members of a gang from Bihar involved in loan frauds by sourcing bank accounts and SIM Cards on mule identities across the country, including nine similar offences in Cyberabad limits.

By offering huge loans in a quick and easy manner, the accused collected money from the victims towards various charges and duped them.

In one of the cases, the accused duped the victim of `4,37,256 in the name of registrati­on fee, loan insurance fee and other charges, for sanctionin­g a loan of `1 lakh.

Police found the accused had procured more than 675 mule bank accounts and 725 mule SIM cards and used them in the fraud.

OVER 15 GIRLS RESCUED FROM BROTHELS

The Bhadradri Kothagudem police on Monday raided brothels at various places and rescued over 15 minor girls. According to police, they received a tip-off that minor girls and women were being brought from various places for flesh trade.

The police officials initiated action on the basis of obtained call data records. Later, the rescued victims were shifted to rehabilita­tion centres.

FOOD DELIVERY BOY HELD IN ROBBERY CASE

Langer Houz police arrested Syed Hameed, a delivery boy working for a food delivery platform, involved in a robbery case.

Police said Hameed hailing from Kamareddy, moved to the city in 2017 to pursue his education. He took up a part-time job and stayed in a private hostel.

Recently, he started working full time as a delivery boy. While delivering orders, he noticed customers wearing gold jewellery.

He noticed a woman staying alone in the house when he had delivered food to her in the past and robbed her of her gold chain a week ago.

Based on clues and technical evidence, police nabbed Syed Hameed and recovered the stolen gold chain from him on Monday.
