ARDH KUMBH MELA

-

No spiritual congregation around the world is bigger than the Kumbh Mela that happens once in 12 years. But the smaller ardh (half) version, held every six years in Allahabad is no less either. Echoes of thousands of holy men chanting mantras together, millions of devotees taking dips in the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati hoping to wash off their sins, Naga sadhus with their matted hair and bare bodies smeared in ash heading for the shahi snaan (royal bath), ghats glittering with diyas lit during the evening arti, the smell of incense sticks, and a feeling of devotion lingering in the air— there’s nothing quite soulful and enthralling as this.

When Starts on January 15 Where Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh

Why you should go To experience a humungous religious gathering based on mass belief and extreme devotion.

Please note If you aren’t a fan of a ‘getting-lost-in-the-mob’ fair, you might want to give it a miss.
