Witness The Thumping Chitrakoot Falls

Chhattisgarh

-

Nearly 150 metres wide and 30 metres high, the Chitrakoot Falls in Chattisgarh are the country’s largest waterfalls, thereby acquiring the nickname ‘India’s Niagara Falls’. Request a local boatman to ferry you to the spray below the falls or take a walk around. The right time to visit is between July and November, when the Indravati River is in full flow, and rainbows are a common sight. While in Bastar to experience the falls, you can also pick some of the most unique paintings, sculptures and weaving traditions that are part of the tribal culture here. Look out for the amazing loha shilp, terracotta work, and godna.
