Vibe With The Well-Planned City
Chandigarh
Le Corbusier’s city, sprawling at the foot of the Shivalik range, is best known for being India’s most planned city. The Capitol Complex forms the administrative quarters, and is a grand expression of the French architect’s work. Chandigarh’s must-see attractions include the Rock Garden, scattered with figures and sculptures created by Nek Chand. Sukhna lake is where the city gathers to stroll, unwind, and hang out. Chandigarh is known also for its pretty gardens, such as the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden and the Garden of Fragrance. Here, the museums and galleries, such as the Government Museum, the Museum of Evolution of Life and the International Dolls Museum, are as well-organised as the city itself. Chandigarh also has sleek shopping areas such as Sector 17, dotted with fountains and sculptures, which becomes one big outdoor club every night.
