• To preserve its fragile ecosystem, entry to the islands is restricted and a permit is required to visit. Foreign nationals must contact the Lakshadweep administration at lakshadweep.gov.in

• Mobile connectivity is scratchy; only BSNL, and to some extent Airtel connections work. • Picking up shells or corals is a punishable offence. • Liquor is prohibited in all islands except Bangaram.
