Besides the more famous black tea, Assam also grows blue tea produced from the blue pea flower plant called Clitoria Ternatea or the Asian Pigeonwings. Highly medicinal in value, the shrub grows in abundance in the region and contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, manganese, and sodium. It has anti-oxidant and antiageing properties as well.
