Rani Ki Vav Gujarat

-

Designed as an inverted temple and divided into seven levels, which feature 1,500 sculptures combined, Rani Ki Vav in Patan, Gujarat is a magnificent 11th-century stepwell built on the banks of River Saraswati. The UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in the Maru-Gurjara architectural style, and is an example of the artistic and technological height of stepwell tradition. The sculptures here combine religious, mythological, and secular imagery. gujarattourism.com
