If digging your feet into snow and climbing icy slopes is your idea of adventure, try ice-climbing in Ladakh. The Ladakh Mountain Guide Association ( lmgaladakh. org) organised the region’s first ice-climbing festival in February 2020 in Ganglas, a village near Leh town. The Suru and Zanskar valleys, too, offer the opportunity to partake in this thrilling sport. ladakh.nic.in

GETTING THERE: Delhi, Mumbai, and Srinagar have flights to Leh. You can hire a cab or drive yourself to Suru (306 km) and Zanskar (462 km) from Leh.
