Regular scanning of the codes should be done for security weaknesses during the cycle of development. Firms need to develop codes that give importance to security and still keep it affordable to its users. Veracode’s chief technology officer wrote in SC Magazine, “It is cheapest to detect and correct as early in the process as practical. A design flaw not detected until final testing will likely require hundreds of other lines of code to be changed and retested, as well. Whereas, if the flaw were detected during a threat-modeling exercise before any code is actually written, one could save both time and money.”
