Exit polls bring cheer to all par­ties

held in 199 of the 200 con­stituen­cies. In­dia To­day exit poll said the party will win 141 in seats and Repub­lic-c Voter gave the Congress 129 to 145 seats. The party will scrape through with 101 seats, said the opin­ion poll of ABP NEWS-CSDS.

Times NOW-CNX has pre­dicted that the in­cum­bent BJP led by Va­sund­hara Raje will man­age to bag 85 seats, while the In­dia To­day’s exit polls pro­jected 55 to 72 seats will go to her party’s kitty. Repub­lic-c Voter gave BJP any­where be­tween 52 and 68 and the ABP NEWS-CSDS claimed the num­ber for Raje’s party would be 83.

Opin­ion polls pointed to a close con­test for the Congress and the BJP in Mad­hya Pradesh, where the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP gov­ern­ment has been in power for the past 15 years, with a ma­jor­ity of them pre­dict­ing an edge for the Congress. Turn to P4
