Five ter­ror­ists killed in J&K, blast hurts 11

Sri­na­gar: Se­cu­rity forces killed five top Hizbul Mu­ja­hedeen and Lashkar-e-toiba ter­ror­ists on Sun­day South Kash­mir’s Kul­gam dis­trict. The slain ter­ror­ists have been iden­ti­fied as Waseem Ah­mad Rather, Aqib Nazir Mir, Par­vaiz Ah­mad Bhat, Idrees Ah­mad Bhat and Zahid Ah­mad Par­ray.

“It was a com­bined group of Hizbul Mu­jhadeen and LET. They were wanted for their in­volve­ment in a series of ter­ror crimes in­clud­ing at­tack on se­cu­rity es­tab­lish­ments and civil­ian atroc­i­ties,” the spokesper­son said.

The po­lice said Waseem, Aqib and Par­vaiz were in­volved in the killings of a civil­ian Mohd Iqbal Kawaq and Mukhtar Ah­mad Ma­lik, a lo­cal army sol­dier of 162 Ter­ri­to­rial Army (TA), at Shu­rat vil­lage.
