AC­TOR MAHESH ANAND PASSES AWAY AT 57

Mahesh Anand, who played the vil­lain in many films in the ’80s and ’90s, passed away on Fe­bru­ary 9. The 57-yearold ac­tor was found dead in his And­heri flat. As the cause of his death was not clear, a post­mortem was con­ducted at Cooper Hospi­tal. Mahesh, who shared screen space with em­i­nent ac­tors like Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, San­jay Dutt and Sunny Deol among oth­ers, was last seen in the re­cently-re­leased Rangeela Raja, which was helmed by Pahlaj Ni­ha­lani and starred Govinda. His pre­vi­ous works also in­clude Sha­hen­shah (1988), Thanedaar (1990), Swarg (1990), Gum­rah (1993), Coolie No 1 (1995), Toofan (1989), Vish­watma (1992) and Vi­jeta (1996) to name a few. May his soul rest in peace.
