‘9 cr TV homes opt for new tariff’
Telecom regulator Trai has said nine crore out of 17 crore TV homes have made their channel preferences to onboard the new tariff regime, and it is constantly monitoring the situation to ensure that consumers do not face inconvenience. “The speed (of onboarding) has increased as per our data and we expect the rest of the people to also register their choice of channels soon,” Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) chairman R S Sharma said. He said of the nine crore TV homes that have made their channel preferences clear, 6.5 crore are cable TV homes and 2.5 crore are DTH homes.
Mfg outlook to improve in Q3
Hiring and production outlook is expected to be better, while exports will be affected due to global demand factors in manufacturing sector in October-december this fiscal, said a Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) survey. The percentage of respondents reporting higher output growth during the third quarter was 54% as compared to 47% in the same period previous fiscal. The percentage of respondents reporting low production was only 13.5% in Q3 of 2018-19 as compared to 15% in the third quarter of 2017-18.
