Fol­low­ing Tha­roor’s ‘Hindu Pak­istan’ jibe, the Ali­garh Mus­lim Youth As­so­ci­a­tion says it will pay `11K to any­one who black­ens his face

Luc­know: Up­set over Shashi Tha­roor’s ‘Hindu Pak­istan’ state­ment, the Ali­garh Mus­lim Youth As­so­ci­a­tion has an­nounced a re­ward of Rs 11,000 to any­one who black­ens the face of the for­mer Union Min­is­ter and se­nior Congress lead­ers Shashi Tha­roor.

As­so­ci­a­tion pres­i­dent Amir Rashid charged Tha­roor with hurt­ing the sen­ti­ments of the peo­ple of the coun­try, par­tic­u­larly Hin­dus. “His state­ment was against the sec­u­lar char­ac­ter of the coun­try and an at­tack on the cul­tural and so­cial fab­ric of the coun­try. He abused Hin­dus and tried to cre­ate a di­vide in the so­ci­ety in the name of vote-bank pol­i­tics. Peo­ple will not for­give him for his di­vi­sive state­ment,” al­leged Rashid.

“We have not reg­is­tered any FIR yet. We are ver­i­fy­ing the com­plaint with Ker­ala po­lice,” said SSP Luc­know.

Mean­while, a com­plaint has been lodged against Shashi Tha­roor at the Gomti­na­gar Po­lice Sta­tion in Luc­know by a Mus­lim in­tel­lec­tual and ad­vo­cate Rizwan Ah­mad for al­legedly mak­ing a ‘provoca­tive state­ment’.
