BJP’s first Raj list likely to be out by Nov 11
Jaipur: The first list of BJP candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly elections may be declared on November 11. Meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board, which is to decide on the ticket distribution, will be held on November 11 in New Delhi, sources in the state unit said.
A list of probable candidates from Rajasthan will be presented in this meeting. “Around 70 names are expected to be finalised,” a party official said.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and convener of BJP state election management committee, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “The party’s Parliamentary Board has the right to decide the candidates in the BJP. We will make panels of all seats and present it before the parliamentary board. Parliamentary Board will then decide on the final candidates from among the lot,” he said. He said the meeting has been scheduled on November 11 in Delhi.
Shekhawat said there are no differences within the party over the selection of candidates on any seat. “The whole party stands united and shall fight the election for a win. BJP’s election symbol Kamal (lotus) is the candidate on all seats,” he said.
The BJP had organised a six-day feedback programme last month and consulted party workers before shortlisting names.
