Cops arrest members of Kranti gang for murder and extortion
The Special Cell of Delhi police on Friday arrested three accused in various cases of murder, extortion and carjacking from Dwarka. The accused persons had escaped arrest about three days ago after an encounter in which one of their associates was apprehended while two of them were left injured.
The arrested accused identified as Devender alias Sonu Kharkhadi, Shekhar and Ravinder alias Dholu are part of the Kranti gang which has been accused of various murder and carjacking cases. On Tuesday the gang was trapped by a police team following a tipoff about their whereabouts.
Although three of them had managed to escape the encounter, another gang member Jitender alias Jitu was arrested after a brief gunfire, while Devender and Ravinder were badly injured.
The accused Jitu had taken over the gang after Special Cell had gunned down four members of the gang in an encounter in South Delhi.
The police had received information that Jitu would be coming in his car near Dhaula Kuan metro station to meet his associate.
