Teen fell to death from 23rd floor

16-yr-old fell from home’s bal­cony in a Tardeo build­ing; cops probe what led to fa­tal mishap

Nearly a fort­night af­ter a 13-year-old boy fell to death from an up­mar­ket build­ing in Lower Parel, a sim­i­lar in­ci­dent has been re­ported in Tardeo where a 16 year-old teenager fell from the 23rd floor of her res­i­dence dur­ing the wee hours of Fri­day.

The de­ceased iden­ti­fied as Priyanka Kothari, was found dead by a se­cu­rity per­son­nel of the Im­pe­rial build­ing at Tardeo. The Tardeo Po­lice have reg­is­tered an Ac­ci­den­tal Death Re­port (ADR) in the case and is prob­ing what led to the fa­tal mishap.

Kothari, who was stay­ing with her fam­ily, was a class ten stu­dent and is sur­vived by her fa­ther Am­r­ish, a di­a­mond mer­chant and gold trader, her mother and a younger brother. The fam­ily had hired two full-time ser­vants who worked and stayed in the du­plex apart­ment. Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice probe, she might have com­mit­ted sui­cide for some un­known rea­son. The fam­ily is stay­ing in the flat for four years now.

As per state­ments given by the con­cerned peo­ple in the case, Kothari was found ly­ing in a pool of blood on Fri­day night at around 2 am, af­ter which the on-duty se­cu­rity guard first alerted the po­lice con­trol room and later her body was rushed to Nair hos­pi­tal where she was de­clared dead be­fore ad­mis­sion. The po­lice be­gan to search for the teenager’s iden­tity and ap­proached
