Se­tal­vad’s se­cu­rity guard shoots self

A Cen­tral In­dus­trial Se­cu­rity Force (CISF) con­sta­ble, posted on duty at so­cial ac­tivist, Teesta Se­tal­vad’s res­i­dence, shot him­self on Satur­day. The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 10.20 am, when the con­sta­ble Bhan­war­lal Nayak (42) shot him­self on the head us­ing an AK-47. The San­tacruz po­lice have reg­is­tered a case of Ac­ci­den­tal Death Re­port (ADR). In­ves­ti­ga­tion is un­der­way.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Bhan­war­lal, a na­tive of Ra­jasthan, had joined duty on Satur­day af­ter re­turn­ing from Noida. He was posted with eleven other per­son­nels at Se­tal­vad’s bun­ga­low at Juhu Tara road in San­tacruz west.

“Nayak took out his AK-47 gun and shot him­self on point blank range. Nayak’s col­leagues, who were present at the spot im­me­di­ately rushed to the spot af­ter hear­ing a loud gun­shot. He was rushed to the civic-run Cooper Hos­pi­tal, where he was de­clared brought dead. No sui­cide note has been re­cov­ered from the spot yet,” said Dat­ta­tray Bhar­gude, As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice (San­tacruz).
