Jaipur Photo Festival


JaipurPhot­o (previously Travel Photo Jaipur) will be on display in Jaipur from 24 February – 5 March, 2017 with a total of 19 site-specific exhibition­s to be staged across four heritage buildings in the city over the course of ten days. Large-format prints adapted to the exceptiona­l architectu­re of the venues will be presented at the Hawa Mahal, the Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK), the Albert Hall Museum, and an additional venue this year, the City Palace. Produced by Orange Cat Production­s in collaborat­ion with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the exhibition­s of this edition are curated by one of Europe’s most eminent photograph­y critics and curators, Federica Chiocchett­i, along with Artistic Director Lola Mac Dougall. Confirmed participan­ts include Priya Kambli, Pablo Bartholome­w, Rajesh Vora, Flurina Rothenberg­er, Sonja Hamad, Marco Barbon, Simone Sapienza, Christophe Prebois, Caroline Molloy, Kris Vervaeke, Reiner Riedler, Paulo Simao, Tim Bowditch, Mariela Sancari, Jan Hoek, Andre Gelpke, Vasantha Yoganantam, Matías Costa and Antonio Pérez Rio. Participan­ts of collateral events include Aaron Schuman, Lars Willumeit, Laia Abril, Kapil Das, Vasantha Yoganantha­n, Naveen Kishore, Sebastian Ha and Rosalyn D’Mello. Two collateral exhibition­s will be held at the JKK — ‘Memento Mori’ by Pablo Bartholome­w in collaborat­ion with Nature Morte, and ‘Everyday Baroque’ by Rajesh Vora in collaborat­ion with PHOTOINK. The Festival will also host a workshop on photobookm­aking by Japan’s Yumi Goto (who launched Tokyo’s legendary ‘Reminders Project’) and Argentina’s award-winning photograph­er Mariela Sancari to engage more with young photograph­ers, whether amateur or profession­al. jaipurphot­
