There’s a sea monster in Philadelphia
Seeing the city differently while making contemporary art fun and accessible are the two simple goals that underlie Sea Monsters HERE, an installation by Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, curated by the Group X collective in Philadelphia’s Navy Yard. Since October, the successful operation has caught everyone’s attention with 20 inflatable tentacles protruding from a 20,000 sq. m building. It’s been a success for the patron, too, who is in charge of transforming this exmilitary base with its 750 ha, 150 firms and a site of Penn State University.
