civil war in Lebanon This spread: an aerial view of the Beirut Souks under construction Almost 30 years after the end of the civil war that devastated the city, the intervention by Zaha Hadid Architects becomes part of the city centre, alongside the Beirut Souks by Rafael Moneo, inaugurated in 2009.
