Cino Zucchi Architetti Milan

- Andrea Caputo

Cino Zucchi Architetti (CZA) is found in a former workshop in the heart of Milan and, in some way, represents the unpredictable and intense figure of Cino Zucchi. The model of the space, according to the founder, reflects the deconstructed image of the Xenophora Pallidula, a sea snail that moves across the bottom of the ocean and integrates everything into its shell, making it a part of itself. A complex place on multiple levels that follow one another without physical barriers; interconnected spaces that evoke shared, group work. Here, nonauthorial design is the result of collective thinking, discussed and developed as a team, surrounded by armies of Japanese kokeshi and naval fleets, protected by an infinity of amulets collected over the years. Unlike compulsive hoarding, or any other pathology aimed at an obsessive need to buy large quantities of useless things, the intense sedimentations of CZA evoke the desire to transcribe and catalogue every detail of personal experience: to densify the imaginary and ideas of a unique protagonist on the contemporary architecture scene.
