Dead traps
the world over are dying due to ocean warming or acidification. Now scientists have found another factor: dead zones or areas with low oxygen. They measured the water quality in the coral reefs of Almirante Bay in Panama. They found extremely low oxygen levels in deeper waters, which was in contrast with high oxygen levels in shallow waters where corals were healthy. Scientists say for every one dead zone found, there are probably 10 which are yet to be identified.
