Once a small dusty agri­cul­tural vil­lage, Gurgaon has now emerged to be­come the city with the third high­est per capita in­come in In­dia. Pop­u­larly known as Mil­len­nium city Gurgaon has the pres­ence of about 250 or 50% of the For­tune 500 com­pa­nies. Gurgaon’s land­scape also comes un­der Na­tional Cap­i­tal Re­gion (NCR).Gurgaon is lo­cated in Gurgaon dis­trict in the In­dian state of Haryana and is si­t­u­ated in the south eastern part of the state.

Gurgaon is a fast grow­ing city due to pres­ence of many in­dus­tries and also wel­com­ing new in­dus­tries on reg­u­lar ba­sis. The IT sec­tor is also grow­ing at a fast rate and sup­ports the process of de­vel­op­ment.


Gurgaon is a home for many big in­dus­tries but the in­dus­try which came ear­lier in Gurgaon and had sup­ported Gurgaon to made it a metro city is Maruti Suzuki In­dia Lim­ited which came in 1970s. Later on com­pa­nies like HERO HONDA joins the mar­ket. Nowa­days al­most ev­ery big com­pany of world is ac­tive in Gurgaon.


Gurgaon is one of the top most ex­pen­sive city when it comes to buy a home due to its lo­ca­tion. IGI Air­port is nearby, metro con­nec­tiv­ity is also their and NH-8 is also passes from Gurgaon city. DLF, ANSAL, BESTECH and ARYANS are some big de­vel­op­ers here.


Gurgaon is a hub for many ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tutes, as one of the top most busi­ness school is in Gurgaon that is Man­age­ment De­vel­op­ment In­sti­tute(MDI). Their are lots of others in­sti­tutes and uni­ver­si­ties present here like Ansal univer­sity, G D Goenka univer­sity, ITM univer­sity , Dronacharya col­lege of en­gi­neer­ing, Gurgaon in­sti­tute of tech­nol­ogy and man­age­ment.


Apna Bazar, Bhar­gav Palace and Sec-14 mar­ket are the ma­jor mar­kets. But af­ter the birth of on­line mar­ket the crowd is less here now days. Peo­ple choose on­line over off­line due to dif­fer­ence in prices and va­ri­eties this be­came rea­son for many re­tail­ers to shut down their busi­nesses.

It is here that Bhu­pesh Mal­ho­tra , Pres­i­dent, Gurgaon IT traders as­so­ci­a­tion (GITTA) quips, “We are lis­ten­ing a lot about fake prod­ucts or im­proper ser­vice given by on­line mar­ket to con­sumers, but we can­not do any­thing in it it’s on cos­tumers them­selves that where to be­lieve and where no to as re­tail mar­ket gives bet­ter ser­vices as com­pare to on­line mar­ket till now”.
