T is the field where men are prom­i­nent, but women are not tak­ing back seat. One of the fair faces in the field of IT is Shikha Bhatt. Off the beaten track of what would her fam­ily may have wanted; she chose IT field to make her ca­reer. She is presently work­ing with New­gen Soft­ware as As­sis­tant Vice Pres­i­dent in Solution De­liv­ery Group. She has also been rec­og­nized as New­gen EMERGE Leader in 2011. Apart from that she is known for play­ing im­por­tant role in defin­ing Busi­ness Pro­cesses au­to­ma­tion for Bank­ing do­main, In­sur­ance Do­main, Man­u­fac­tur­ing firms, Health care, and Rat­ing Agen­cies and Mo­bil­ity so­lu­tions with highly in­te­grated build ser­vices with Cus­tomer’s CORE sys­tem in the com­pany.

FAM­ILY BACK­GROUND

Born and bought up in Jodh­pur. My father was a doc­tor (Retd. CMO in Rail­ways). My mother was a house­wife. I am mar­ried to an IT pro­fes­sional. I have one daugh­ter who is study­ing in class IX.

ED­U­CA­TIONAL BACK­GROUND

I am a Grad­u­ate in Com­puter Sci­ence and done my Masters in Com­puter Ap­pli­ca­tion from MBM En­gi­neer­ing Col­lege, Jodh­pur in 1998.

FAS­CI­NA­TION FOR IT FIELD

My fam­ily was from Med­i­cal back­ground. I wanted to do some­thing dif­fer­ent. Com­puter sci­ence was an emerg­ing field in those days and cre­ated an ex­cite­ment as it al­lowed an op­por­tu­nity to in­no­vate many new things
